Salifert Coral Calcium   Salifert Coral Food

All in One
Salifert All-in-One contains almost everything needed for superb coral growth and beautiful colours.

Key Features:

  • Increase alkalinity
  • Boosts amino acid levels
  • Restores calcium, strontium and trace elements

Restoring all of the above will ensure that your corals grow beautifully in colour and health. Skeletal and soft tissue growth of both hard and soft corals benefit from this complex blend.

Magnesium for example is an essential ingredient for most biochemical processes which promote photosynthesis. Iron is great to support healthy nutrition and cobalt too will encourage healthy pigment formation.

This supplement is highly concentrated and contains 55,000 ppm of calcium, the equivalent of biologically activated bicarbonates and around 1000ppm of strontium. It only contains just the right amount of top quality ingredients to make the very best of your corals.

Coral Calcium
Salifert Coral Calcium is ideal to maintain the level of calcium needed by corals and calcareous alage. It ensures healthy skeletal development and lush growth.

Coral Calcium contains not only calcium, but also minerals such as sulfate, chloride, bromide, sodium and magnesium. This blend will ensure that your aqaurium looks amazing and glows with health.

Coral Food
Salifert Coral Food supplies coral stocks with a nutritious diet to support healthy growth.

Dosed correctly, it won't pollute the water with any waste thanks to its miniscule size. The particles are just 5 -150 micron in size, however they contain a highly concentrated blend of essential nutrients.

Coral Food contains highly nutritional particles ranging in size from 5 - 150 micron and dissolved natural polymeric and monomeric nutrients. When dosed according to the instructions corals will have sufficient food to thrive without polluting the water.

The food is suitable for soft, leather and hard corals as well as sponges, feather duster worms and many other seawater organisms. It replicates the natural food that these life forms would eat to promote the most naturalistic behaviours and benefits.

Corals trap and absorb these nutrients through their tissue, which means the vitamins, amino acids and trace minerals of Salifert's Coral Food are consumed directly. It contains encapsulated and dissolved fatty acids (including HUFA), carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and minerals.

Salifert Coral Grower   Salifert Coralline Aminoacids   Salifert Liquid Magnesium

Coral Grower
Salifert Coral Grower contains calcium, strontium and trace elements (except iodine) required for growth and multiplication by corals and the beautiful encrusting pink and red colours of coralline algae.

Calcium and strontium are the main ingredients of calcareous algae, skeletal material of hard corals and the skeletal needles of soft/leather corals. Growth and multiplication of these organisms means depletion of those substances, so Coral Grower will restore and replenish these levels.

It also contains a variety of trace elements to support and maintain natural processes:

  • Iron to support the absorption of nutrients
  • Manganese for instance is essential for the many biochemical reactions, which make photosynthesis possible.
  • Cobalt is a vital element for pigment development.
  • Zinc is also essential for photosynthesis and the formation of calcium carbonate by corals.
  • To complete the range of trace elements, Salifert Natural Iodine is highly recommended.

This Supplement is highly concentrated and contains approx. 80,000 ppm calcium and 1,600 ppm strontium. To avoid an ionic imbalance, the calcium and strontium level is balanced with ions such as sulphate, chloride, bromide, sodium and magnesium.

Coralline Aminoacids
Salifert Coralline Amino Acids is one of very few formulations on the market that contains only the essential amino acids for superb coralline growth.

The skeletal material of corals is built-up with alternating layers of calcium carbonate and layers rich in amino acids. Amino acids play an important part in healthy skeleton growth, decrease the impact of phosphates, and act as a food for most corals.

In the wild corals take these amino acids from the surrounding waters, to restore depleted levels. Coralline Amino Acids will ensure that these levels are replenished within your aquarium for the very best growth and beautiful colours.

Liquid MagnesiumMagnesium is found in natural sea water in fairly high concentrations of around 1350 - 1500 mg/l. Magnesium is an essential part of chlorophyll, which is necessary for photosynthesis. Without this, algae and hence the corals, which we have in our aquariums, would die. Magnesium also has another important function in that it allows maintaining the correct combination of calcium concentration and alkalinity or carbonate hardness possible.

Maintaining a correct magnesium concentration is very important and is indirectly responsible for fast coral and calcareous algae growth. To avoid an ionic imbalance, Salifert have properly balanced the magnesium with ions such as sulphate, chloride, bromide, sodium and calcium. This supplement is intended to be used on a regular maintenance basis.

Salifert Natural Iodine   Salifert Natural Strontium   Salifert Reef Boron

Natural Iodine
Corals benefit from iodine as it serves a multipurpose supplement. It works as a de-toxifier, protects against UV radiation and it's a natural guard against parasites. It's naturally found in sea water in a very low dose (0.06ppm)

Salifert's Natural Iodine supplement contains a large amount of iodate and also some iodide in similar proportions as NSW (Natural Sea Water). This will simulate the most authentic conditions which in turn will benefit corals and other organisms.

All ingredients are of a pharmaceutical quality, this means you can be confident of the very best results.

Natural Strontium
The growth of corals and calcareous algae goes hand in hand with strontium and calcium depletion, depletion of calcium normally means depletion of strontium as well. With the addition of Salifert's Natural Strontium you can replenish these vital levels for the optimum results.

Strontium is an important part of the growth process of corals and other calcareous growths. Natural Sea Water contains around 7-9 mg/L of strontium. Salifert use strontium sulfate in this blend, which is more effective and less toxic than the more common compound of strontium chloride. By recreating the natural balance found in sea water, your corals will thrive.

Reef Boron
Salifert Reef Boron helps you establish the right pH balance in your coral reef aquarium. Although levels of Boron in marine tanks are usually quite low in respect to other chemical factors, they are still important to a flourishing aquarium and need to be topped up every now and again to ensure optimum water chemistry to support your aquatic life.

Salifert Trace Hard   Salifert Trace Hard

Trace Hard
Salifert Trace Hard is a concetrated additive designed for use in the marine aquarium.

It is perfect for the best development of Hard Corals. The blend of trace elements of manganese, iron, cobalt and zinc, will promote good skeletal growth and as such, lush coral formations.

In any marine set up, the trace elements are naturally absorbed from the water, so using a treatment such as Trace Hard will ensure levels are at the optimum level.

Dosage: 5ml per 100 litres / 22 gallons, once a week.

Trace Soft
Salifert Trace Soft is perfect for soft corals such as soft/leather corals and coralline algae.

In a marine aquarium, these elements are naturally depleted, which means corals might not get everything they need for the best development.

Trace Soft contains a blend of several trace elements such as Maganese, Zinc, Copper, Vanadate, Fluoride, Barium and Selenate. They work together to create the best supplement for healthy coral growth.

The treatment is Iodine free, as it would degrade the solution, so a separate Iodine treatment can be used.

Test Kits

Salifert Calcium test kit   Salifert Copper test kit

Ammonia test kit – NH3
The Salifert Ammonia Profi-Test is the ideal addition to any aquarist's kit. Salifert are well known for their high quality aquatic products, and this test kit is no exception.

Ammonia and ammonium can be a real problem to not only a new fish keeper but also to an experienced aquarist. Even a low amount can cause severe fish health problems and even death.

It can be a sign that a filtration system is not fully matured, or that it is not sufficient for the amount of fish in the tank. Ammonia is a by-product of fish waste and uneaten food, so poor tank maintenance can contribute to the problem.

The tests work in just a few minutes, giving a precise and reliable result. With 50 tests in the kit, you are well prepared to carry out routine maintenance.

We have a range of ammonia removal products that are designed to quickly eradicate the problem. Also, making sure that uneaten food is removed after a few minutes and that the filter media is cleaned or replaced regularly will help lessen the risk.

Calcium test kit – Ca
Salifert Profi- Calcium Test Kits are part of the Salifert range, designed to help you make the very best of your aquarium.

Calcium is a vital element in any tank with corals, invertebrates or other calcareous organisms. They use it form calcium carbonate which builds strong, healthy skeletons and aids beautiful growth.

In most reef tanks, this is depleted quickly, so level must be tested and restored routinely. This Calcium test kit is quick and easy to use and will give you an accurate result every time. The kit uses a colour changing method and measures in steps of 5mg/l, so offers a precise result, every time.

There is enough solution to carry out between 50 and 100 tests, so you are well prepared for your weekly maintenance regime. Use Salifert's Coral Calcium to restore the calcium levels to the correct level.

Copper test kit – Cu
Salifert's Copper Profi Test Kit is perfect to monitor copper levels within your aquarium.

Copper is often found in treatments and medications, so it's important to check that the concentration is not too heavy as it can be toxic to both marine fish and invertebrates. Tap water can also contain a large amount of copper and other heavy metals, so test mains water during water changes.

This kit contains enough solution to carry out 50 tests and should be used as part of your regular maintenance routine to keep the tank in the best condition. It is very sensitive and will detect the smallest amount easily.

Salifert Iodine test kit     Salifert Nitrate test kit

Iodine test kit – I2
Iodine is always present in natural sea water, and is a vital trace element for many sea creatures, it defends against diseases, detoxes the water, and provides a level of UV protection. This expert Iodine Test Kit from Salifert is ideal to accurately test for the levels within your aquarium.

Iodine is naturally consumed by marine life, so must be measured and replenished as required. Weekly testing will highlight any problems and allow you to dose accordingly.

Salifert have designed this test to test for iodine and iodate, whereas other manufacturers just test for one or the other. To restore levels use Salifert Natural Iodine, to guard against parasites, UV radiation and de-toxes the water.

This efficient kit contains 40 tests, so is a great, cost effective addition to your fish keeping kit.

Magnesium test kit – Mg
Use the Salifert Magnesium Profi-Test Kit to accurately measure magnesium in your aquarium.

Magnesium is a vital element in any aquarium as it is used by corals and coralline algae to build strong skeletal formations and healthy development. It's also an element of chlorophyll which is necessary for vital photosynthesis to occur.

Salifert Test Kits are very sensitive and will provide the most accurate reading possible. The magnesium reading is not affected by strontium or calcium levels, so you can be confident of the most precise readings.

Magnesium is naturally depleted by corals, algae and other life forms within the tank, so it is important to regularly test and replenish the amount available. Use a magnesium supplement to restore levels to a good, healthy level.

Easy to use, and accurate, this test kit contains 50 tests, so it's long lasting too.

Nitrate test kit – NO3
The Salifert Profi-Test Nitrate Kit is designed to test the water in your aquarium for nitrates.

Nitrates can be caused when denitrification is not performing properly in the tank, and also if there is a heavy fish volume, producing a lot of waste. Nitrates result in algae growth, which can be stubborn to remove and also affect plant and fish health.

This expert test kit will give speedy and reliable results in under 3 minutes. The test is very sensitive too, so it will provide results that you can trust.

The test's range goes from 0.2 - 100mg/l. In a reef aquarium levels should be lower than 1mg/l but slightly higher in a fish only tank.

Regular testing is important to keep an eye on all parameters in the aquarium, as well as regular tank maintenance such as removing uneaten food after a few minutes, keeping filters properly cleaned and performing regular water changes.

Use a suitable nitrate remover to eradicate the problem, we have a wide range here at Swell UK that are ideal to have on hand.

Salifert Nitrite test kit   Salifert pH test kit   Salifert Phosphate test kit

Nitrite test kit – NO2
Nitrites are usually converted into nitrogen gas via a sufficient filtration system, however if left unchecked, levels can cause fish and plant health problems as well as promote algae growth.

This Nitrate Test Kit from Salifert is part of their excellent range of test kits that are designed to help you pinpoint problem areas in your aquarium. This kit of 50 tests is very sensitive, to provide the most accurate, intense results possible.

Results are visible in just one minute, so you can quickly check nitrite levels and act accordingly. The kit has two separate scales, one with a range of 0.002-0.12 mg/l, and another with a medium scale from 0.02 - 1.2mg/l.

Make this test part of your regular tank maintenance routine, as well as making sure that uneaten food is removed after a few minutes and ensuring that the filtration system is suitable for the fish stock.

pH test kit – pH
The Salifert pH Profi Test is designed to help you keep your marine aquarium in the best condition. It is the ideal addition to your maintenance routine.

If pH levels are allowed to spike or even fall, this can cause stress to fish, which leave s the susceptible to diseases and sickness. Plants and corals are also negatively affected, so the pH balance is a key parameter to monitor.

This top quality test kit has a scale of pH 7.4 - 8.7, so it can provide an accurate, reliable result. Salifert recommend that the pH level of a coral aquarium should be kept above 8.2.

Use a suitable buffer to alleviate the problem, we have an extensive range here at Swell UK.

Only for use in a marine aquarium

Phosphate test kit – PO4
Phosphates can be a problem in an aquarium if levels grow too high. They can boost algae blooms and deprive aquatic plants of oxygen and nutrients. They can also stunt the growth of corals and calcareous algae too by up to 90%.

Use the Salifert Phosphate Profi Test Kit to detect levels within your tank, for a quick result, in less than 5 seconds! A phosphate remover will resolve the problem quickly.

The tests are sensitive too, so you can be confident of the most accurate result possible. The kit has two ranges, a lower range of 0.01 - 1 mg/l, and a medium range of 0.02 - 2 mg/l, so every reading is covered.

Good tank maintenance keeps phosphates at bay, so remove fish food after a few minutes, plant and food waste when possible and perform regular water changes. The kit contains 60 tests.
